Andrew Buffmire - President and Chief Executive Officer
With more than 20 years experience in wireless, wire-line and VoIP services, Andrew Buffmire has a long history in the development and implementation of strategic communications industry initiatives. Prior to joining Strata8 Networks, Andrew served as Director Business Development and Strategy in the Unified Communications Group at Microsoft Corporation. Andrew served as CEO of a hosted VoIP carrier providing services over broadband, WiFi and FTTP; and, an Executive Officer at UbiquiTel, Inc. (NASDAQ: UPCS), one of the largest Sprint affiliates. While at Sprint, Andrew was a member of the Sprint PCS development team and a key participant in the design, development and execution of the Sprint affiliate program. Andrew has a Masters Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Utah, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
Gary Fowler - Chief Financial Officer
Gary has more than 30 years senior-level financial and accounting management experience in the U.S., Asia, Australia, and Europe. As an expert in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for US publicly traded companies, Gary has brought extensive insight to multiple early stage venture-backed companies. As CFO, Secretary and Treasurer of Expeditors International (NASDAQ: EXPD). Gary managed the company through its IPO. While at Expeditors, he managed the accounting, finance and administrative systems during a period of revenue growth from $1.5 million to $451 million, and a global expansion from 75 employees in 5 US offices to over 3,500 employees in 67 offices in 26 countries. Gary holds a Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University.
Andrew Wilson - Executive Vice President of Marketing
Andrew is an experienced business and marketing executive with more than 15 years experience in the telecommunications, Internet, and VoIP industries. Andrew has served as President and Vice President Marketing and Sales of a regional CLEC / VoIP provider. Andrew also served as Founder and Chief Architect of a web-based system for acquisition of telecom circuits. Andrew has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington.
Jon Schnelz - Executive Vice President of Enterprise Solutions
Jon has more than 15 years experience in the deployment of VoIP and related enterprise communications solutions. In 2001 Jon founded Javelin Inc. to design and sell Hosted VoIP solutions to the SME marketplace. The company evolved into a service provider, consulting group, and operations team designing, developing and deploying commercial Hosted VoIP systems, with clients from several Fortune 500 companies. While at Javelin, Jon also assumed the role of Vice President of Technology for Ecuity Advanced Communications, a regional CLEC and Hosted VoIP company. Jon has a Bachelor's degree from Washington State University.
Scott T. Toborg - Senior Vice President of Service Delivery Systems
Dr. Toborg is a leading executive consultant in the areas of technology, product, and partnering strategies. He has 20+ years experience in many different technology leadership roles such as: Co-Founder and CTO of Mosaix Communications; CTO CosComm International, Vice President and CIO of 360networks; Director, Product Development Teledesic Corporation; and Network and Service Architect SBC Communications. Scott is a published author of several technology articles, and is a popular speaker and lecturer among the technology community. Scott holds a Master's degree from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Larry Corvari - Senior Vice President of Engineering
Larry has spent his career developing technologies instrumental to the success of wireless data: the first nationwide cellular circuit-switched network for McCaw Cellular, AT&T Wireless Services' CDPD service, the first wireless data standard, and a breakthrough technology that would enable location-based services. Larry served as CTO of Chameleon Technology, a company specializing in intelligent network software systems for delivering mission-critical broadband network services; VP Operations and Deployment for Wireless Services (now Singlepoint). As CTO for Xypoint (now TCS), Larry was responsible for the development of the technology used to detect the location of wireless callers. Larry holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington.
Richard Cahill - Vice President of Business Development, Sales
Richard has over twenty years experience in the wireless communications industry, with broad experience selling to and for service providers such as AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Prior to joining Strata8 Networks, Richard was Director of Wireless Sales at NeuBond. At NewBond, Richard was responsible for establishing initial customer relationships and contract management for the integration of wireless and wireline services for service providers. Richard also served as Vice President of Wireless Service Strategic Planning at InfoSpace, where he introduced the industry’s first successful launch of Over the Air (OTA) voice provisioning of wireless data services. Richard has a Bachelor’s degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Washington.
